Stock market update: IT shares mixed; NIIT Tech falls 2%

NEW DELHI: IT shares were trading on a mixed note in Friday's morning session.

Shares of Infibeam Avenues (up 0.76 per cent), Tata Elxsi (up 0.50 per cent), Infosys (up 0.24 per cent) and Wipro (up 0.02 per cent) were the top gainers in the index.

NIIT Technologies (down 2.02 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services (down 0.99 per cent), Tech Mahindra (down 0.74 per cent) and HCL Technologies (down 0.25 per cent) were trading lower.


The Nifty IT index was trading 0.27 per cent down at 15,271.75 around 10:16 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 40.85 points at 11,530.35 while the BSE Sensex was down 114.18 points at 38,875.56.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 13 were trading in the green, while 36 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Dish TV India, Tata Motors, NMDC, GMR Infra, SBI, SAIL, Vodafone Idea, ZEEL and Ashok Leyland were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
