Stock market update: IT shares dip; HCL Tech slips nearly 2%

NEW DELHI: IT shares were trading in the negative zone in Monday's morning session.

Shares of HCL Technologies (down 1.91 per cent), Just Dial (down 1.65 per cent), Tata Consultancy (down 1.36 per cent), Wipro (down 1.35 per cent), Hexaware Technologies (down 1.19 per cent), Tata Elxsi (down 0.44 per cent), NIIT Technologies (down 0.27 per cent) and Infosys (down 0.24 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty IT index was trading 0.8 per cent down at 16,225.70 around 10:00 am.


Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 23.70 points at 12328.65 , while the BSE Sensex was down 67.23 points at 41878.14.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 21 were trading in the green, while 29 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, NHPC, YES Bank, Indian Oil Corp, PowerGrid, Tata Motors, NMDC, Ashok Leyland, Bharti Airtel and L&T Fin Holding were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
