Stock market update: IT shares advance; Infibeam Avenues climbs 4%

NEW DELHI: IT shares were trading with gains in Friday's morning session.

Shares of Infibeam Avenues (up 4.73 per cent), Tata Elxsi (up 1.42 per cent) and Oracle Financial Services Software (up 1.17 per cent) were the top performers in the index.

Mindtree (up 0.56 per cent), NIIT Technologies (up 0.52 per cent) and HCL Technologies (up 0.35 per cent) too were trading higher.


The Nifty IT index was trading 0.06 per cent up at 15,877.35 around 10:00 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 66.05 points at 11,098.50 while the BSE Sensex was up 209.85 points at 37,537.21.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 37 were trading in the green, while 13 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, NBCC, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Ashok Leyland, Tata Motors, JSPL, PNB, SAIL and Bank of Baroda were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
