Stock market update: FMCG stocks fall; Britannia Ind loses 2%

The Nifty FMCG index was trading 0.33 per cent down at 31356.15.

Out of the 15 stocks in the index, 7 were trading in the green while 8 were trading in the red.
NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading on a negative note at 11:41AM (IST) on Wednesday.

Shares of Britannia Industries (down 1.74 per cent), Jubilant Foodworks (down 1.66 per cent), United Breweries (down 1.1 per cent), ITC (down 0.54 per cent) and Nestle India (down 0.49 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

While TATA Consumer Products (up 1.61 per cent), VBL (up 1.46 per cent), Emami (up 1.01 per cent), Dabur India (up 0.72 per cent) and P & G Hygiene (up 0.37 per cent) were among the top gainers.


The Nifty FMCG index was trading 0.33 per cent down at 31356.15 around 11:41AM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 2.60 points at 11474.85, while the BSE Sensex was down 32.88 points at 38811.0.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 were trading in the green, while 21 were in the red.

Shares of Tata Motors, YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Tata Power and Ibull HousingFin were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Indiabulls Ventures (PP), Ruchi Soya Inds, Affle (India) Ltd., Hero MotoCorp and Bajaj Elec. hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
