Stock market update: FMCG stocks bearish; Colgate drops 2%

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 1.70 points at 11,943.0, while BSE Sensex was up 24.91 points at 40,326.87.
NEW DELHI: Most of the FMCG stocks were in the red in Tuesday's morning trade.

Shares of ColgatePalmolive (India) (down 1.68 per cent), Godrej Consumer Products (down 1.14 per cent), Emami (down 0.80 per cent), GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare (down 0.73 per cent), Tata Global Beverages (down 0.64 per cent), Marico (down 0.59 per cent), Hindustan Unilever (down 0.49 per cent) were among the top losers in the index.

While Jubilant Foodworks (up 0.64 per cent), United Breweries (up 0.55 per cent), Dabur India (up 0.52 per cent) were among the top gainers.


The Nifty FMCG index was trading 0.19 per cent down at 32,193.35 around 10:47 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 1.70 points at 11,943.0, while BSE Sensex was up 24.91 points at 40,326.87.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 29 were trading in the green, while 21 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, JSPL, SBI, Indiabulls Housing, PNB, SAIL, Bank of Baroda, BEL and Tata Motors were among the most traded securities on the NSE.
