Stock market update: Cement stocks bullish; Andhra Cements jumps 5%

NEW DELHI: Most Cement stocks were trading in the green in Friday's morning session.

Shares of Andhra Cements (up 4.95 per cent), Orient Cement (up 2.61 per cent), India Cements (up 1.95 per cent), Birla Corporation (up 1.78 per cent) and Prism Johnson (up 1.67 per cent) rose up to 5 per cent.

Shiva Cement (up 1.66 per cent), UltraTech Cement (up 1.63 per cent), Kakatiya Cements Sugar & Industries (up 1.54 per cent) and JK Lakshmi Cement (up 1.01 per cent) too were trading with gains.


The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 52.10 points up at 10,900.0, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 190.97 points at 36,835.39 at around 09:59 am.

Tech Mahindra (up 4.77 per cent), Axis Bank (up 2.05 per cent), Tata Motors (up 1.99 per cent), NTPC (up 1.78 per cent) and UltraTech Cement (up 1.61 per cent) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Indiabulls Housing Finance (down 5.11 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (down 3.01 per cent), YES Bank (down 1.21 per cent) and Tata Consultancy Services (down 0.69 per cent) were trading in the red.
