Stock market update: Cement stocks climb; APCL leaps 3%

NEW DELHI: Most of the cement stocks were in the green in Tuesday's morning trade.

Shares of APCL (up 3.10 per cent), Sanghi Industries (up 2.10 per cent), UltraTech Cement (up 2.04 per cent), Shiva Cement (up 1.92 per cent) and Saurashtra Cement (up 1.91 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Birla Corporation (up 1.68 per cent), JK Lakshmi Cement (up 1.68 per cent), Ambuja Cements (up 1.59 per cent) and Century Textiles & Industries (up 1.17 per cent) too were trading with gains.


While JK Cements (down 0.93 per cent), Dalmia Bharat (down 0.49 per cent) and Gujarat Sidhee Cement (down 0.21 per cent) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 118.70 points up at 12,150.2, while the 30share BSE Sensex was up 381.75 points at 41,361.37 at around 09:46 am.

Tata Steel (up 2.69 per cent), UltraTech Cement (up 2.04 per cent), Axis Bank (up 1.97 per cent), Hero MotoCorp (up 1.76 per cent) and ITC (up 1.73 per cent) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Tata Consultancy (down 0.43 per cent) were trading in the red.
