Stock market update: Cement stocks bullish; APCL climbs over 3%

NEW DELHI: Shares of cement companies were trading in the green in Thursday's morning trade.

Shares of APCL (up 3.57 per cent), Dalmia Bharat (up 2.50 per cent), Birla Corporation (up 2.32 per cent), Kakatiya Cements Sugar & Industries (up 1.94 per cent), Gujarat Sidhee Cement (up 1.93 per cent), UltraTech Cement (up 1.78 per cent) and Star Cement (up 1.45 per cent) gained up to 4 per cent.

Shiva Cement (down 6.35 per cent), Andhra Cements (down 4.81 per cent) and Burnpur Cement (down 4.61 per cent) were among the top losers.


The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 117.30 points up at 11,557.5, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 366.72 points at 38,960.24 at around 09:51 am.

Indian Oil Corporation (up 4.23 per cent), ICICI Bank (up 2.83 per cent), Indiabulls Housing Finance (up 2.48 per cent), IndusInd Bank (up 2.40 per cent) and UPL (up 2.17 per cent) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, YES Bank (down 3.26 per cent), HCL Technologies (down 1.12 per cent), Infosys (down 0.20 per cent), Housing Development Finance Corporation (down 0.11 per cent) and Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (down 0.01 per cent) were trading in the red.
