Stock market update: Cement stocks advance; Orient Cement up 2%

NEW DELHI: Most of the cement shares were trading with gains in Thursday's morning session.

Shares of Orient Cement (up 2.28 per cent), Century Textiles & Industries (up 1.12 per cent), Ramco Cements (up 0.90 per cent), JK Lakshmi Cement (up 0.88 per cent) and ACC (up 0.84 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Kakatiya Cements Sugar & Industries (down 1.50 per cent), HeidelbergCement India (down 0.99 per cent) and Sanghi Industries (down 0.56 per cent) were among the top losers.


The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 44.70 points up at 11,954.85, while the 30share BSE Sensex was up 150.73 points at 40,563.3 at around 09:38 am.

Yes Bank (up 3.97 per cent), Tata Motors (up 2.32 per cent), VEDL (up 1.73 per cent), Tata Steel (up 1.49 per cent) and IndusInd Bank (up 1.35 per cent) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (down 1.29 per cent), Bharti Airtel (down 0.54 per cent), Infosys (down 0.16 per cent), HDFC (down 0.16 per cent) and Kotak Mahindra Bank (down 0.15 per cent) were trading in the red.
