Stock market update: Cement shares slump; NCL Industries dips 2%

NEW DELHI: Most of the cement stocks were trading with gains in Tuesday's morning session.

Shares of NCL Industries (down 1.80 per cent), Shiva Cement (down 1.69 per cent), Star Cement (down 1.57 per cent), Udaipur Cement Works Ltd (down 1.19 per cent), Prism Johnson (down 0.94 per cent), Andhra Cements (down 0.88 per cent) and Century Textiles & Industries (down 0.80 per cent) were among the top losers.

While Keerthi Industries (up 4.88 per cent), KCP (up 1.75 per cent) and Birla Corporation (up 0.83 per cent) were among the top gainers.


The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 12.45 points down at 11,925.05, while the 30share BSE Sensex was down 26.85 points at 40,460.58 at around 10:14 am.

Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (up 1.23 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (up 1.21 per cent), Hindustan Unilever (up 0.87 per cent), State Bank of India (up 0.74 per cent) and HDFC Bank (up 0.47 per cent) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Yes Bank (down 1.78 per cent), Tata Motors (down 1.73 per cent), Axis Bank (down 1.36 per cent), Tata Consultancy (down 1.26 per cent) and Tech Mahindra (down 1.15 per cent) were trading in the red.
