Stock market update: Capital goods stocks mixed; NBCC, Siemens up, but L&T under pressure

NEW DELHI: Capital goods stocks were trading mixed during afternoon trade on Monday.

Shares of NBCC (India) (up 1.41 per cent), Carborundum Universal (up 1.29 per cent) and Siemens (up 1.28 per cent) were top gainers in the BSE Capital Goods index.

Dilip Buildcon (up 0.67 per cent), Thermax (up 0.59 per cent), Elgi Equipments (up 0.45 per cent), BEML (up 0.40 per cent) and Kalpataru Power Transmissions (up 0.32 per cent) were also in the green zone.


On the other hand, Sadbhav Engineering (down 3.59 per cent), CG Power and Industrial Solutions (down 2.40 per cent), Bharat Electronics (down 2.26 per cent), V-Guard Industries (down 1.95 per cent), AIA Engineering (down 1.77 per cent) and HEG (down 1.49 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

Shares of Havells India (down 1.45 per cent), BHEL (down 1.26 per cent), Graphite India (down 1.18 per cent), Suzlon Energy (down 1.13 per cent), Lakshmi Machine Works (down 0.61 per cent), Schaeffler India (down 0.59 per cent), SKF India (down 0.58 per cent), Finolex Cables (down 0.54 per cent) and Larsen & Toubro (L&T) (down 0.32 per cent) were also under pressure.

The BSE Capital Goods index was trading 0.42 per cent down at 18,212 around 12:55 pm.

Benchmark BSE Sensex was 36 points down at 35,586, while the NSE Nifty50 index was down 7 points at 10,811.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 were trading in the green, while 31 were in the red.

In the Sensex index, 11 stocks were trading with gains, while 20 were suffering losses.
