Stock market update: Capital goods index down; BEL among top drags

BHEL, Schaeffler India, Thermax, AIA Engineering, Sadbhav Engineering and SKF India declined up to 1 per cent.

In the Sensex index, 11 stocks were advancing while 20 were declining.
NEW DELHI: The BSE Capital Goods index was trading 0.77 per cent down at 17,354 around 02:30 pm on Monday, with Dilip Buildcon (down 5 per cent) as the top loser.

Shares of Bharat Electronics (BEL), Suzlon Energy, NBCC (India) and GE T&D India cracked over 2 per cent in the capital goods index.

Elgi Equipments, Finolex Cables, Havells India, Kalpataru Power Transmissions, Larsen & Toubro and Lakshmi Machine Works declined over 1 per cent.


BHEL, Schaeffler India, Thermax, AIA Engineering, Sadbhav Engineering and SKF India declined up to 1 per cent.

On the other hand, Graphite India (up 4.70 per cent), HEG (up 3.91 per cent) and CG Power and Industrial Solutions (up 2.68 per cent) were trading with gains.

Shares of Carborundum Universal (up 0.44 per cent), Siemens (up 0.41 per cent) and V-Guard Industries were also in the green around that time.

Benchmark BSE Sensex was 141 points down at 35,282, while the NSE Nifty50 index was down 57 points at 10,657.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 16 were trading in the green, while 34 were in the red.

In the Sensex index, 11 stocks were advancing while 20 were declining.

HFC Bank, ITC, Reliance Industries, HDFC and Larsen & Toubro were among the top drags on Sensex.
