Stock market update: Smallcap index nosedives 4%; D-Link tanks 10%

The index was trading 4 per cent down at 14391.16.

Out of the 716 stocks in the index, 30 advanced while 686 declined.
NEW DELHI: S&P BSE SmallCap index was trading with losses at 02:02PM (IST) on Monday.

Shares of Arvind SmartSpaces (down 11.97 per cent), D-Link (India) (down 10.26 per cent), Vascon Engineers (down 10.05 per cent), IG Petrochemicals (down 9.99 per cent) and JTEKT India (down 9.36 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

While Vadilal Industries (up 6.43 per cent), WPIL (up 6.12 per cent), Future Lifestyle Fashions Ltd (up 5.0 per cent), Future Supply (up 5.0 per cent) and Vivimed Labs (up 4.98 per cent) were among the top gainers.


The S&P BSE SmallCap index was trading 4 per cent down at 14391.16 around 02:02PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 209.95 points at 11437.65, while the BSE Sensex was down 678.41 points at 38788.9.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 7 were trading in the green, while 43 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Alok Industries, Future Retail Ltd. and BHEL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Adani Green Energy Ltd., Larsen & Toubro Infotech Ltd., MindTree, SBI Cards and Timken India hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Panth Infinity Ltd., Innovative Ideals and Services (India) Ltd., Unishire Urban Infra Ltd., Emmsons International Ltd., Anupam Finserv Ltd., STI India Ltd., Vas Infrastructure Ltd., Leading Leasing Finance and Investment Company Ltd., Rainbow Denim Ltd. and Megastar Foods Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
