Stock market update: BSE SmallCap index up 1%; SpiceJet surges 14%

NEW DELHI: S&P BSE SmallCap index was trading higher at 01:02PM (IST) on Thursday.

Shares of Graphite India (up 14.68 per cent), SpiceJet (up 13.79 per cent), Inox wind (up 13.75 per cent), Anant Raj (up 13.0 per cent) and HEG (up 12.97 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Lakshmi Vilas Bank (down 19.76 per cent), Adani Gas (down 3.78 per cent), IIFL Finance Ltd (down 3.62 per cent), HFCL Ltd (down 3.14 per cent) and Wonderla Holidays Ltd (down 2.99 per cent) were the top losers in the index.


The S&P BSE SmallCap index was trading 0.91 per cent up at 16199.27 around 01:02PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 24.40 points at 12913.85, while the BSE Sensex was down 103.53 points at 44076.52.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 26 were trading in the green, while 24 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Motors, BHEL and Spicejet were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Tata Chemicals, India Cements, Tanla Solutions, Redington and SRF hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Terrascope Ventures Ltd., Pazel International Ltd., Neil Industries Ltd., Jump Networks Ltd., Suncare Traders Ltd., CLIO Infotech Ltd., NMS Resources Global Ltd., Radix Industries (India) Ltd., Shree Rajeshwaranand Paper Mills Ltd. and Fervent Synergies Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
