Stock market update: BSE SmallCap index rises over 1%; Shalimar Paints skyrockets 16%

NEW DELHI: BSE SmallCap index was trading with gains at 01:45PM (IST) on Tuesday.

Shares of Shalimar Paints (up 16.14 per cent), Birlasoft Ltd (up 15.43 per cent), Fiem Industries (up 13.78 per cent), Automotive Axles (up 13.69 per cent) and Thirumalai Chemicals (up 12.96 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Thyrocare (down 5.22 per cent), Vikas Ecotech (down 4.98 per cent), Prozone Intu Properties Ltd (down 4.96 per cent), Future Consumer (down 4.95 per cent) and V2 Retail (down 4.93 per cent) were the top losers in the index.


The S&P BSE SmallCap index was trading 1.21 per cent up at 14140.63 around 01:45PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 80.90 points at 11328.0, while the BSE Sensex was up 259.98 points at 38310.76.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 34 were trading in the green, while 16 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Alok Industries, Ashok Leyland and Tata Motors were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Birlasoft, KIOCL Ltd., IOL Chemicals, SRF and Amber Enterprises India Ltd. hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Panth Infinity Ltd., Alliance Integrated Metaliks Ltd., Kuber Udyog Ltd., Unishire Urban Infra Ltd., City Pulse Multiplex Ltd., Shivansh Finserve Ltd., Leading Leasing Finance and Investment Company Ltd., Mitshi India Ltd., Spice Islands Apparels Ltd. and Abhishek Infraventures Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
