Stock market update: BSE SmallCap index falls over 1%; Kirloskar tanks 7%

The index was trading 1.43 per cent down at 14230.52.

Out of the 716 stocks in the index, 83 advanced while 629 declined and 4 remained unchanged.
NEW DELHI: S&P BSE SmallCap index was trading with losses at 02:24PM (IST) on Wednesday.

Shares of Escorts (up 6.19 per cent), Globus Spirits (up 5.0 per cent), Tejas Network (up 5.0 per cent), Dish TV India (up 4.97 per cent) and Mukand (up 4.95 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Inox wind (down 7.02 per cent), Kirloskar Brothers (down 6.88 per cent), Astrazeneca Pharma India (down 6.83 per cent), Jubilant Life Sciences (down 6.72 per cent) and ITI (down 6.62 per cent) were the top losers in the index.


The S&P BSE SmallCap index was trading 1.43 per cent down at 14230.52 around 02:24PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 63.70 points at 11253.65, while the BSE Sensex was down 233.18 points at 38132.17.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 23 were trading in the green, while 27 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SAIL, IDFC First Bank Ltd. and Alok Industries were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Adani Green Energy Ltd. and Infibeam Avenues Ltd. hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Mauria Udyog Ltd., Darjeeling Ropeway Company Ltd., Panth Infinity Ltd., Innovative Ideals and Services (India) Ltd., Jinaams Dress Ltd., Mahip Industries Ltd., Saffron Industries Ltd., Colorchips New Media Ltd., Leading Leasing Finance and Investment Company Ltd. and Libord Finance Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
