Stock market update: BSE SmallCap index falls 2%; GMM Pfaudler tanks 10%
The index was trading 1.83 per cent down at 14477.69.

Shares of GMM Pfaudler (down 10.0 per cent), Vikas Wsp (down 9.84 per cent), Lakshmi Vilas Bank (down 7.3 per cent), Astec Lifesciences (down 6.94 per cent) and QUESS (down 6.86 per cent) were the top losers in the index.
While Central Bank of India (up 6.98 per cent), Nucleus Software Exports (up 6.78 per cent), HSIL (up 6.02 per cent), Sasken Technologies (up 5.24 per cent) and Bhansali Engineering Polymers (up 5.16 per cent) were among the top gainers.
The S&P BSE SmallCap index was trading 1.83 per cent down at 14477.69 around 02:19PM.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 112.75 points at 11137.8, while the BSE Sensex was down 336.34 points at 37697.8.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 7 were trading in the green, while 43 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, IDFC First Bank Ltd., BHEL and Ashok Leyland were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of TCS and Hexaware hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Mauria Udyog Ltd., 7NR Retail Ltd., Darjeeling Ropeway Company Ltd., Panth Infinity Ltd., Innovative Ideals and Services (India) Ltd., Mehai Technology Ltd., Saffron Industries Ltd., Unishire Urban Infra Ltd., Vas Infrastructure Ltd. and SC Agrotech Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
