Stock market update: BSE SmallCap index edges higher; Ero International soars 15%

The index was trading 0.24 per cent higher at 13901.95.

Out of 717 stocks in the BSE Smallcap index, 434 traded in the green while 275 traded in the red and 7 remained unchanged while 1 stock was not trading.
NEW DELHI: S&P BSE SmallCap index was trading on a positive note at 01:21PM on Tuesday.

Shares of Eros International Media (up 14.96 per cent), Nesco Ltd. (up 14.95 per cent), Nila Infra (up 13.93 per cent), Garware Technical Fibres (up 12.57 per cent) and Astron Paper (up 12.5 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Laurus (down 7.56 per cent), Transpek Inds. (down 7.34 per cent), Nath BioGenes (India) Ltd (down 5.9 per cent), Caplin Point Laboratories Ltd (down 5.61 per cent) and Saregama India (down 5.45 per cent) were the top losers in the index.


The S&P BSE SmallCap index was trading 0.24 per cent up at 13901.95 around 01:21PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 76.10 points at 11346.25, while the BSE Sensex was up 290.76 points at 38472.84.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 were trading in the green, while 17 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, IDFC First Bank Ltd. and ITC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Vaibhav Global, Garware Technical Fibres, GMM Pfaudler, Rossari Biotech Ltd. and JSPL hit their fresh 52week high in today's trade.
