Stock market update: BSE Power index up; Torrent Power gains 2%
The index was trading 0.31 per cent up at 1569.73.

NEW DELHI: S&P BSE Power index was trading on a positive note at 12:36PM (IST) on Wednesday.
Shares of Torrent Power (up 2.04 per cent ), Siemens (up 1.42 per cent ), Bharat Heavy Electricals (up 1.26 per cent ), ABB India Ltd (up 1.15 per cent) and KEC International (up 0.58 per cent) were among the top gainers.
While Adani Transmissions (down 0.88 per cent ), Adani Green (down 0.71 per cent ), Adani Power (down 0.53 per cent ), NHPC (down 0.49 per cent) and CESC (down 0.09 per cent) were the top losers in the index.
The S&P BSE Power index was trading 0.31 per cent up at 1569.73 around 12:36PM.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 12.50 points at 11310.0, while the BSE Sensex was down 27.88 points at 38379.13.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 23 were trading in the green, while 26 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, Alok Industries and SBI were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd., ITI Ltd, Essel Propack, M&M and SBI Cards hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Mauria Udyog Ltd., 7NR Retail Ltd., Panth Infinity Ltd., Viaan Industries Ltd., Emmsons International Ltd., Shree Karthik Papers Ltd., Vas Infrastructure Ltd., Anubhav Infrastructure Ltd., Rainbow Denim Ltd. and Rama Petrochemicals Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
