Stock market update: BSE Power index gains over 1%; Adani Transmissions jumps 5%

NEW DELHI: S&P BSE Power index was trading with gains at 02:02PM (IST) on Wednesday.

Shares of Adani Green (up 9.99 per cent), Adani Transmissions (up 4.9 per cent), ABB India Ltd (up 3.81 per cent), Tata Power Company (up 1.68 per cent) and Siemens (up 1.44 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While CESC (down 1.61 per cent), NHPC (down 1.38 per cent), Torrent Power (down 1.01 per cent) and NTPC (down 0.9 per cent) were the top losers in the index.


The S&P BSE Power index was trading 1.4 per cent up at 1736.54 around 02:02PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 6.90 points at 11477.15, while the BSE Sensex was down 9.73 points at 38891.07.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 were trading in the green, while 22 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Alok Industries, RIL and Infosys were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Adani Green Energy Ltd., IndiaMART InterMESH Ltd., Godrej Ind and Infibeam Avenues Ltd. hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Darjeeling Ropeway Company Ltd., Panth Infinity Ltd., Innovative Ideals and Services (India) Ltd., Darshan Orna Ltd., Majestic Research Services & Solutions Ltd., Anupam Finserv Ltd., Saffron Industries Ltd., Leading Leasing Finance and Investment Company Ltd., Benara Bearings & Pistons Ltd. and B P Capital Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
