Stock market update: BSE MidCap index gains; Cholamandalam Finance leaps 9%

NEW DELHI: S&P BSE MidCap index was trading on a positive note at 02:27PM (IST) on Friday.

Shares of Cholamandalam Investment & Finance (up 8.74 per cent), TVS Motor Company (up 6.81 per cent), Adani Green (up 5.0 per cent), Zee Entertainment (up 4.47 per cent) and MPhasis (up 3.22 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Ajanta Pharma (down 3.9 per cent), MRF (down 2.95 per cent), Info Edge (India) (down 1.85 per cent), Muthoot Finance (down 1.83 per cent) and Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail (down 1.75 per cent) were the top losers in the index.


The S&P BSE MidCap index was trading 0.4 per cent up at 14872.16 around 02:27PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 66.00 points at 11604.8, while the BSE Sensex was down 269.68 points at 39480.17.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 23 were trading in the green, while 27 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Motors, Indian Oil Corp and Bank of Baroda were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Blue Dart Exp, Vaibhav Global, Adani Green Energy Ltd., Responsive Ind and Adani Enterpr. hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while 7NR Retail Ltd., Panth Infinity Ltd., Mehai Technology Ltd., Shivansh Finserve Ltd., Mukta Agriculture Ltd., Primuss Pipes & Tubes Ltd., Spice Islands Apparels Ltd., Neil Industries Ltd., Stephanotis Finance Ltd. and Suncare Traders Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
