Stock market update: BSE MidCap index gains 1%; Shriram Transport Finance leaps 8%

NEW DELHI: S&P BSE MidCap index was trading higher at 01:41PM (IST) on Tuesday.

Shares of Shriram Transport Finance (up 8.24 per cent), MRF (up 5.74 per cent), Muthoot Finance (up 5.04 per cent), Adani Green (up 5.0 per cent) and ACC (up 4.87 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Mahindra & Mahindra Financial (down 3.17 per cent), Larsen & Toubro Infotech (down 2.48 per cent), Steel Authority of India (down 2.27 per cent), Future Retail (down 2.1 per cent) and Torrent Pharmaceuticals (down 2.05 per cent) were the top losers in the index.


The S&P BSE MidCap index was trading 1.26 per cent up at 14895.74 around 01:41PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 72.00 points at 11839.75, while the BSE Sensex was up 192.45 points at 40337.95.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 were trading in the green, while 18 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Bank of Baroda, Federal Bank and Indian Oil Corp were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Ipca Labs, Asian Paints, Just Dial, ACC and Ceat hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while 7NR Retail Ltd., Mehai Technology Ltd., Colorchips New Media Ltd., Vikas Proppant & Granite Ltd., Advik Capital Ltd., Madhusudan Securities Ltd., Mukta Agriculture Ltd., Neil Industries Ltd., Agio Paper & Industries Ltd. and Stephanotis Finance Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
