Stock market update: BSE Consumer Durables index up 2%; Titan jumps 5%

Out of the 11 stocks in the index, 4 advanced while 7 declined.
NEW DELHI: S&P BSE Consumer Durables index was trading higher at 01:01PM (IST) on Friday.

Shares of Titan Company Ltd (up 4.59 per cent), Orient Electric (up 2.16 per cent), Blue Star (up 2.09 per cent) and Crompton (up 1.67 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Sheela Foam (down 1.57 per cent), VIP Industries (down 1.24 per cent), Rajesh Exports (down 1.08 per cent), TTK Prestige (down 0.44 per cent) and Voltas (down 0.31 per cent) were the top losers in the index.


The S&P BSE Consumer Durables index was trading 2.39 per cent up at 26594.26 around 01:01PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 18.85 points at 12790.55, while the BSE Sensex was up 37.21 points at 43637.17.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 34 were trading in the green, while 16 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Spicejet, SBI and Tata Motors were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Gland Pharma Ltd., Affle (India) Ltd., Tanla Solutions, Titan Company and Supreme Inds. hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Terrascope Ventures Ltd., Pazel International Ltd., Neil Industries Ltd., Colorchips New Media Ltd., Madhusudan Securities Ltd., S & S Power Switchgear Ltd., Jump Networks Ltd., Suncare Traders Ltd., K&R Rail Engineering Ltd. and Square Four Projects India Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
