Stock market update: BSE Consumer Durables index rises nearly 2%; Crompton climbs 4%

NEW DELHI: S&P BSE Consumer Durables index was trading higher with gains at 12:37PM (IST) on Tuesday.

Shares of Crompton (up 4.16 per cent), Orient Electric (up 2.58 per cent), Blue Star (up 2.29 per cent), Voltas (up 2.05 per cent) and Whirlpool of India (up 1.99 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Symphony (down 0.18 per cent) was the sole loser in the index.


The S&P BSE Consumer Durables index was trading 1.74 per cent up at 22873.37 around 12:37PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 73.80 points at 11320.9, while the BSE Sensex was up 241.31 points at 38292.09.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 33 were trading in the green, while 17 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Alok Industries, Ashok Leyland and NTPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Birlasoft, KIOCL Ltd., IOL Chemicals, Hatsun Agro and Amber Enterprises India Ltd. hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Panth Infinity Ltd., Alliance Integrated Metaliks Ltd., Kuber Udyog Ltd., Unishire Urban Infra Ltd., City Pulse Multiplex Ltd., Leading Leasing Finance and Investment Company Ltd., Shivansh Finserve Ltd., Mitshi India Ltd., Sagar Diamonds Ltd. and N2N Technologies Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
