Stock market update: 93 stocks hit 52-week highs on NSE

NEW DELHI: Benchmark NSE Nifty index was trading 180.55 points down at 12757.70 on Thursday on account of selling in frontline bluechip counters.

Among the stocks that touched their 52-week highs on NSE were: Titan Company; NIIT Ltd; Grasim Industries; The India Cements; Mahindra & Mahindra; MRF; Tata Steel; Amara Raja Batteries; Apollo Hospitals Enterprise; Ashok Leyland; Eicher Motors; Havells India; Jindal Stainless Ltd; JSW Holdings.

Overall, 13 shares were trading in green in Nifty50 index, while 37 were trading in red in the afternoon trade.


In the Nifty 50 index, PowerGrid, ITC, NTPC, Tata Steel and Titan Company were among top gainers, while Coal India Ltd, SBI, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank and Tata Motors were trading in red.

The BSE Sensex was trading 612.85 points down at 43567.20. Traders were seen piling up position in Industrial Consumables, Defence, Diversified, Holding Company and Miscellaneous sectors, while selling were visible in Trading, Mining, Banks, Pesticides/Agro Chemicals and Services sectors.
