Stock market update: 31 stocks hit 52-week highs on NSE

Benchmark NSE Nifty index was trading 42.20 points down at 11895.45 on Thursday on account of selling in frontline bluechip counters.

Among the stocks that touched their 52-week highs on NSE were: Ambuja Cements; CEAT; ACC Ltd; Optiemus Infracom; NCL Industries; Noida Toll Bridge Company; Kopran; Hemisphere Properties India; Greenpanel Industries; Globe Textiles; Ester Industries; Biofil Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals.

Overall, 20 shares were trading in green in Nifty50 index, while 30 were trading in red in the afternoon trade.


In the Nifty 50 index, Adani Ports SEZ, Britannia Inds., Tata Motors, Larsen & Toubro and ONGC were among top gainers, while Dr. Reddys Laborat, Cipla, Hindalco Inds., Eicher Motors and Hero MotoCorp were trading in red.

The BSE Sensex was trading 127.41 points down at 40579.90. Traders were seen piling up position in Diversified, Defence, Cables, Rubber and Tea / Coffee sectors, while selling were visible in Trading, Agro Processing, Pharmaceuticals, Beverages - Alcoholic and Tourism & Hospitality sectors.
