Stock market update: 21 stocks hit 52-week highs on NSE

The BSE Sensex was trading 417.65 points down at 46992.28.
Benchmark NSE Nifty index was trading 116.40 points down at 13851.10 on Thursday on account of selling in frontline bluechip counters.

Among the stocks that touched their 52-week highs on NSE were: Havells India, ABB India, Cosmo Films, Orchid Pharma, Palred Technologies, Thiru Arooran Sugars, Cyber Media (India), Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra), Tamilnadu Telecommunication, Raj Oil Mills, Ganesh Housing Corporation and Cosmo Films.

Overall, 17 shares were trading in green in Nifty50 index, while 33 were trading in red in the afternoon trade.


In the Nifty 50 index, Axis Bank, BPCL, GAIL, ONGC and Hero MotoCorp were among top gainers, while HDFC Bank, Kotak Bank, Tech Mahindra, Wipro and Hind. Unilever were trading in red.

The BSE Sensex was trading 417.65 points down at 46992.28. Traders were seen piling up position in Diversified, General, Electric/Electronics, Consumer Durables and Mining sectors, while selling were visible in Beverages - Alcoholic, Miscellaneous, Banks, IT Software and FMCG sectors.
