Stock market update: 180 stocks hit 52-week highs on NSE

Benchmark NSE Nifty index was trading 104.55 points down at 14746.20 on Wednesday on account of selling in frontline bluechip counters.

Among the stocks that touched their 52-week highs on NSE were: Adani Enterprises, Ambika Cotton Mills, BEL, Birla Corp, Dalmia Bharat, Glen Pharma, HPCL, Lux Industries, Nureca, Siemens Ltd, Tata Motors and Vinati Organics.

Overall, 19 shares were trading in green in Nifty50 index, while 31 were trading in red in the afternoon trade.


In the Nifty 50 index, Tata Motors, NTPC, Power Grid, UPL and Indian Oil Corp. were among top gainers, while HUL, SBI Life, M&M, Shree Cements and IndusInd Bank were trading in red.

The BSE Sensex was trading 380.95 points down at 48780.86. Traders were seen piling up position in Aquaculture, Trading, Fertilisers, Mining and Agriculture/Horticulture/Livestock sectors, while selling were visible in Plastics, Gems and Jewellery, Chemicals, Tea / Coffee and Rubber sectors.
