Stock market update: 112 stock hit 52-week highs on NSE

Benchmark NSE Nifty index was trading 40.80 points down at 13068.25 on Wednesday on account of selling in frontline bluechip counters.

Among the stocks that touched their 52-week highs on NSE were: Adani Enterprises; ADF Foods; APL Apollo Tubes; Apollo Tyres; Grasim Industries; Hindalco Industries; JK Cement; Kirloskar Industries; Somany Ceramics; ABB Power Products and Systems; Tata Power Company; TVS Motor Company; UltraTech Cement; Jindal Steel & Power.

Overall, 34 shares were trading in green in Nifty50 index, while 16 were trading in red in the afternoon trade.


In the Nifty 50 index, GAIL, Indian Oil Corporation, JSW Steel, Tata Steel and Tata Motors were among top gainers, while HDFC Bank, Kotak Bank, Tech Mahindra, HDFC and Infosys were trading in red.

The BSE Sensex was trading 202.30 points down at 44453.14. Traders were seen piling up position in Miscellaneous, Metals - Ferrous, Learning & Education, Diversified and Metals - Non Ferrous sectors, while selling were visible in Electric/Electronics, Agro Processing, Trading, Banks and Fertilisers sectors.
