Stock market update: 101 stocks hit 52-week highs on NSE

Overall, 23 shares were trading in green in Nifty50 index, while 27 were trading in red in the afternoon trade.

The BSE Sensex was trading 94.38 points down at 52009.79.
Benchmark NSE Nifty index was trading 14.70 points down at 15298.75 on Wednesday on account of selling in frontline bluechip counters.

Among the stocks that touched their 52-week highs on NSE were: Ambuja Cements, Bank of India, Deepak Nitrite, Avenue Supermarts, Havells India, Hindalco Industries, Indian Overseas Bank, Bank of Maharashtra, PNB Housing Finance, Sundram Fasteners, Tata Power and VA Tech Wabag.

Overall, 23 shares were trading in green in Nifty50 index, while 27 were trading in red in the afternoon trade.


In the Nifty 50 index, Adani Ports SEZ, Hero MotoCorp, SBI, GAIL and HDFC Life were among top gainers, while BPCL, Nestle India, Asian Paints, Divi's Labs and Bajaj Finserv were trading in red.

The BSE Sensex was trading 94.38 points down at 52009.79. Traders were seen piling up position in Diversified, Shipping, General, Cables and Metals - Ferrous sectors, while selling were visible in Infrastructure, Auto, Building Materials, Packaging and NBFC sectors.
