Stock market news: Tata Motors shares leap nearly 8%

NEW DELHI: Shares of Tata Motors Ltd. traded 7.73 per cent up in Tuesday's trade at 11:49AM (IST). Around 6107201 shares changed hands on the counter. The stock opened at Rs 137.8 and touched an intraday high and low of Rs 144.9 and Rs 135.9, respectively, in the session so far.

The stock quoted a 52-week high of Rs 213.65 and a 52-week low of Rs 63.5.

Tata Motors-owned Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) reported 11.9 per cent dip in sales in the second quarter this fiscal to 1,13,569 units as compared to the same period previous year. The company's sales, however, improved by 50 per cent during the July-September quarter as against 74,067 units in April-June period of the current fiscal, JLR said in a statement.
