Sterlite Optical bags BSNL order

MUMBAI: Sterlite Optical Technologies Ltd has received a contract from BSNL for manufacture and supply of high fiber count Ribbon Fiber Optic Cables, which would be installed in BSNL's pan-India optical fiber access network.

The contract is valued at Rs 38 crore and supplies would be completed within the next six months, the company said in a notice to the BSE.

The Sterlite Optical share was up 3.65% at Rs 226.00 on NSE, with total quantity traded at 143,115 shares.

Sterlite RIBBON-LITE Fiber Optic Cables are suitable for installation in cable ducts. These cables are ideally suited for bandwidth rich networks and are typically installed in the access network. The cables are designed to operate from -30oC to +70oC. These cables provide an efficient means to achieve high fiber density, as well as reduce the time per fiber required for installation.
