Srei Infrastructure: Investors warned

“India Ratings is unable to comment on the present rating level given that no information has been shared by Srei Infra post the last review,” the rating company said on Saturday.

KOLKATA: India Ratings, which was earlier known as Fitch Ratings India, has cautioned investors of Srei Infrastructure Finance about a potential credit risk, although it did not issue fresh ratings as Srei Infra stopped sharing details after being downgraded in March with a negative long term outlook.

“India Ratings is unable to comment on the present rating level given that no information has been shared by Srei Infra post the last review,” the rating company said on Saturday.

“Given the lack of adequate public information, India Ratings may be unable to review the ratings in the future. Investor caution is therefore recommended given that the negative outlook implies potential for a further rating downgrade,” it said.

Srei Infra has reacted sternly against India Ratings. “Fitch has acted in haste and their view is based on inaccurate conjecture,” chief operating officer Shashi Bhushan Tiwari said.
