Spicejet soars on Goldman Sachs, Wilbur Ross fund infusion
Low-cost carrier SpiceJet rose as much as 9.5 per cent after the company said it agreed with certain shareholders, Goldman Sachs and Wilbur Ross & Co for an investment of $100 million in the company.
In July, Wilbur Ross said it will invest $80 million in SpiceJet. Media reports that billionaire Lakshmi Mittal has evinced interest in buying the airline also triggered buying in the stock.
At 10:40 am, the company's share was up 6.11 per cent at Rs 30.40, easing from a high of Rs 31.40 with volume traded at 17,19,420 against two-week average of 9,10,103 shares.
