SJVNL declares the highest dividend so far

Central power sector undertaking Sutlej Jal Vidyut Nigam has declared a dividend of Rs 328.20 crore, its highest dividend so far.

SHIMLA: Central power sector undertaking Sutlej Jal Vidyut Nigam has declared a dividend of Rs 328.20 crore, its highest dividend so far.

The dividend for his year, that includes an interim dividend of Rs 80 crore which has already been paid. A dividend of Rs 320 crore was declared in 2008-09.

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the company, held on September 15, decided to pay a dividend of 80 paise per share, a spokesman of SJVN said.

The company earned a profit of Rs 972.74 crores (after tax) for 2009-10 and the declared dividend was 33.75 per cent of the overall profit, which was the highest ever.

H K Sharma, CMD of SJVN said that the company planned to foray into solar and wind energy as well as transmission businesses.
