Shree Cement, UPL, Bharat Forge gain on inclusion in MSCI Index

MUMBAI: Shares of companies such as Shree Cement, Eicher Motors and Marico surged in trade after being included in the MSCI India Index.

In its semi-annual index review, MSCI also added companies Lupin, Bharat Forge and Bharat Infratel to its India Index.

Other stocks such as Aarti Industries, Ratnamani Metals, BEML, Blue Dart, Cera, Crompton Greaves, Dhanuka Agri, Hitachi, Ingersoll Rand, Wabco, Britannia and others also made to MSCI Smallcap Index list.

The changes will come in to effect form the 29th of this month

Meanwhile, Reliance Infrastructure was deleted from the list.

Shree Cement closed at Rs 11,121.75, up 10.07 per cent, on the BSE. It surged 3.40 per cent to touch intraday high of Rs 11,500.

Marico ended at Rs 407, up 7.25 per cent, on the BSE. It rallied 10.43 per cent to touch intraday high of Rs 419.10.

Eicher Motors closed at Rs 18,062.70, up 5.50 per cent, on the BSE. It rallied 7.04 per cent to touch 52-week high of Rs 18,327.45.
