Share price of Tata Power Company Ltd. falls as Sensex drops 611.53 points

Share price of Tata Power Company Ltd. dropped 4.44 per cent to Rs 47.4 at 01:58PM (IST) in Tuesday's trade. The scrip hit a high of Rs 49.05 and low of Rs 47.0 so far during the session. The stock had closed at Rs 49.6 in the previous session.

The counter had a total traded volume of 01:58PM shares so far with a turnover of Rs 4.44 crore on BSE. The stock traded at a price-to-earnings multiple of 12.78 and a price-to-book ratio of 0.59.

A higher price-to-earnings ratio shows investors are willing to pay a higher price for per rupee earnings given by the stock because of better future growth expectations.

The company reported consolidated net sales of Rs 6620.8 crore for the quarter ended 31-Mar-2020, down 6.37 per cent from the previous quarter's Rs 7071.03 crore and down 8.43 per cent from the year-ago quarter's Rs 7230.24 crore.

Its profit for the latest quarter stood at Rs 402.59 crore, up 599.18 per cent from the same quarter a year ago.
