Share of India in global m-cap inches higher

The country’s market capitalization is currently at $2.13 trillion and slipped to the eighth rank among the top equity markets by m-cap.

Interestingly, India’s market capitalization in dollar terms and global market capitalization are showing high degree of the correlation.
With Dalal Street indices hovering at record levels, the share of Indian equities in global market capitalization is trending above its 10-year historical average. India’s contribution to total global market capitalization stood at 2.60 per cent compared with the 10-year historical average of 2.56 per cent, according to Bloomberg data compiled by ETIG. India’s contribution to the world equity reached the high of 3.10 per cent in 2010. The country’s market capitalization is currently at $2.13 trillion and slipped to the eighth rank among the top equity markets by m-cap. Interestingly, India’s market capitalization in dollar terms and global market capitalization are showing high degree of the correlation.
