Share market update: BSE Utilities index gains; Reliance Power climbs 4%

The S&P BSE Utilities index was trading 0.68 per cent up at 1776.02.

Benchmark NSE Nifty 50 index was up 25.25 points at 12284.95, while the BSE Sensex was up 72.61 points at 41746.53.
NEW DELHI: The BSE Utilities index advanced in Friday's morning session.

Shares of RattanIndia Infrastructure (up 3.89 per cent), Reliance Power (up 3.11 per cent), Reliance Infrastructure (up 2.95 per cent), Adani Transmissions (up 2.67 per cent), Nava Bharat Ventures (up 2.02 per cent), Torrent Power (up 1.69 per cent) and Adani Power (up 1.63 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Orient Green Power Company (down 4.02 per cent), KSK Energy Ventures (down 3.39 per cent), Gujarat Industries Power (down 1.09 per cent), NLC India (down 0.55 per cent), GMR Infrastructure (down 0.47 per cent), BF Utilities (down 0.46 per cent) and GAIL (India) (down 0.25 per cent) were the top losers in the index.


The S&P BSE Utilities index was trading 0.68 per cent up at 1776.02 around 11:24 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty 50 index was up 25.25 points at 12284.95, while the BSE Sensex was up 72.61 points at 41746.53.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 36 were trading in the green, while 14 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Indiabulls Housing Finance, BHEL, Petronet LNG, SAIL, SBI, JSPL, Bank of Baroda and Union Bank India were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
