Share market update: Telecom shares trade mixed; GTL Infra slumps 5%

NEW DELHI: Telecom shares were trading mixed with the S&P BSE Telecom trading 1.56 per cent up at 994.28 around 02:22 pm on Friday.

Shares of Vodafone Idea (up 3.47 per cent), Reliance Communications (up 3.35 per cent), Bharti Airtel (up 3.14 per cent) and Tejas Networks (up 1.15 per cent) clocked decent gains.

GTL Infrastructure (down 5 per cent), Aksh Optifibre (down 3.29 per cent), Sterlite Technologies (down 2.72 per cent) and Tata Communications (down 1.42 per cent) appeared among the laggards.


Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 180.20 points at 10,560.65 while BSE Sensex was up 626.96 points at 35058.93 at that time.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 39 were trading in the green, while 11 were in the red.

Shares of Reliance Communications, ABB India, JP Associates, PC Jeweller, PNB, Adani Power, ICICI Bank, Infibeam Avenues, RIL, Tata Motors, YES Bank, Adani Ports SEZ, Coal India Ltd, Tata Steel and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
