Share market update: Telecom shares fall; RCom down over 3%

NEW DELHI: Most telecom shares were trading in the negative zone in Tuesday's afternoon session.

Shares of Reliance Communications (down 3.40 per cent), OnMobile Global (down 2.89 per cent), ITI (down 2.16 per cent) and Vodafone Idea (down 1.99 per cent) were the worst performers in the index.

Sterlite Technologies (down 1.58 per cent), Himachal Futuristic Communications (down 1.41 per cent), Tata Communications (down 1.16 per cent) and Bharti Airtel (down 1.13 per cent) too were trading with losses.


The S&P BSE Telecom index was trading 0.06 per cent down at 991.75 around 11:53 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 3.95 points at 11,832.20 while the BSE Sensex was up 52.19 points at 39,404.86.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 18 were trading in the green, while 32 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, YES Bank, Tata Motors, SBI, Adani Enterprises, Adani Power, RIL, DHFL and Ashok Leyland were among the most traded securities on the NSE.
