Share market update: Telecom shares bullish; OnMobile Global up 5%

NEW DELHI: The S&P BSE Telecom index was up in Wednesday's afternoon session with most of its components trading in the green.

Shares of OnMobile Global (up 5.02 per cent), GTL (up 4.91 per cent), GTL Infrastructure (up 4.88 per cent) and Vodafone Idea (up 4.85 per cent) were trading higher.

Himachal Futuristic Communications (up 4.81 per cent) , Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) (up 3.88 per cent) and ITI (up 3.48 per cent) too were trading with gains.


The S&P BSE Telecom index was trading 1.36 per cent up at 999.86 around 02:23 pm.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 48.80 points at 11,036.25 while the BSE Sensex was up 150.84 points at 36,593.38.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 29 were trading in the green, while 21 were in the red.

Shares of Suzlon Energy, Reliance Power, Reliance Communications, JP Associates, DHFL, Vakrangee, Reliance Infra, Infibeam Avenues, South Indian Bank, PC Jeweller, Adani Power, CG Power, IDFC First Bank, Network18 Media and NALCO were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
