Share market update: Sugar stocks slump; Simbhaoli Sugars plunges over 10%

NEW DELHI: Most sugar stocks were trading lower in Monday's afternoon session.

Shares of Simbhaoli Sugars (down 10.45 per cent), Dharani Sugars & Chemicals (down 9.37 per cent), Piccadily Agro Industries (down 5.63 per cent), Rana Sugars (down 5.32 per cent), Uttam Sugar Mills (down 5.25 per cent), Indian Sucrose (down 4.73 per cent), Mawana Sugars (down 4.38 per cent) and Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries (down 4.19 per cent) slipped up to 11 per cent.

Dwarikesh Sugar Industries (down 3.65 per cent), Avadh Sugar (down 3.07 per cent), Shree Renuka Sugars (down 2.58 per cent), Dhampur Sugar Mills (down 2.41 per cent), Balrampur Chini Mills (down 1.98 per cent), Ugar Sugar Works (down 1.86 per cent), KCP Sugar & Industries (down 1.66 per cent), Triveni Engineering & Industries (down 1.38 per cent), K.M.Sugar Mills (down 1.16 per cent) and Sakthi Sugars (down 1.06 per cent) too were trading lower.


Meanwhile, Dhampure Specialty Sugars (up 4.92 per cent), Piccadily Sugar & Allied Inds (up 4.48 per cent), Gayatri Sugars (up 4.37 per cent), Sir Shadi Lal Enterprises (up 4.25 per cent), Riga Sugar Company (up 3.54 per cent), DCM Shriram Industries (up 2.17 per cent) and Kesar Enterprises (up 2.07 per cent) were trading with gains.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 5.55 points up at 11,558.05 while the 30share BSE Sensex was up 63.40 points at 38,799.63 at around 12:41 pm.

Infosys (up 6.31 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (up 3.18 per cent), UPL (up 1.94 per cent), YES Bank (up 1.43 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki India (up 1.10 per cent) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Indiabulls Housing Finance (down 4.54 per cent), Vedanta (down 2.18 per cent), Zee Entertainment Enterprises (down 1.87 per cent), Larsen & Toubro (down 1.81 per cent) and Tata Steel (down 1.56 per cent) were trading in the red.
