Share market update: Sugar stocks mixed; Dharani Sugars surges 9%

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading on a mixed note in Tuesday's afternoon session.
Shares of Dhampure Specialty Sugars (down 4.88 per cent), K.M.Sugar Mills (down 3.39 per cent), Rana Sugars (down 3.29 per cent), Triveni Engineering & Industries (down 3.26 per cent), Sakthi Sugars (down 2.89 per cent), Shree Renuka Sugars (down 2.19 per cent), EID Parry (down 1.88 per cent), BAJAJHIND (down 0.99 per cent), Simbhaoli Sugars (down 0.79 per cent), DCM Shriram Industries (down 0.73 per cent) and Balrampur Chini Mills (down 0.43 per cent) slumped up to 5 per cent.
Meanwhile, Dharani Sugars & Chemicals (up 8.68 per cent), Ponni Sugars (Erode) (up 6.50 per cent), Bannari Amman Sugars (up 6.31 per cent), Indian Sucrose (up 4.95 per cent), Uttam Sugar Mills (up 4.91 per cent), Sir Shadi Lal Enterprises (up 4.67 per cent), Piccadily Agro Industries (up 4.06 per cent), Ugar Sugar Works (up 1.80 per cent), Mawana Sugars (up 1.46 per cent), Riga Sugar Company (up 0.70 per cent) and Dhampur Sugar Mills (up 0.41 per cent) were trading higher.
The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 2.15 points down at 11,051.75 while the 30share BSE Sensex was up 44.31 points at 37,446.80 at around 02:05 pm.
Maruti Suzuki India (up 3.16 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra (up 2.65 per cent), Tata Motors (up 2.40 per cent), HCL Technologies (up 2.34 per cent) and Infosys (up 1.95 per cent) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, YES Bank (down 6.20 per cent), Britannia Industries (down 3.05 per cent), UltraTech Cement (down 2.83 per cent) and Indiabulls Housing Finance (down 2.73 per cent) were trading in the red.
