Share market update: Sugar stocks mixed; Dhampure Specialty Sugars jumps 5%

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading on a mixed note in Wednesday's afternoon session.

Shares of Dhampure Specialty Sugars (up 4.99 per cent), Uttam Sugar Mills (up 3.57 per cent), Riga Sugar Company (up 3.57 per cent), Mawana Sugars (up 3.35 per cent), Balrampur Chini Mills (up 2.26 per cent), Ugar Sugar Works (up 2.12 per cent), Simbhaoli Sugars (up 1.86 per cent), Avadh Sugar (up 1.67 per cent), Magadh Sugar (up 1.45 per cent), Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries (up 1.43 per cent), KCP Sugar & Industries (up 1.42 per cent), EID Parry (up 1.41 per cent), Dwarikesh Sugar Industries (up 1.27 per cent) and Rana Sugars (up 1.13 per cent) jumped up to 5 per cent.

Meanwhile, Gayatri Sugars (down 5 per cent), Indian Sucrose (down 4.92 per cent), Sir Shadi Lal Enterprises (down 4.69 per cent), Ponni Sugars (Erode) (down 4.35 per cent), Sakthi Sugars (down 3.35 per cent), Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals (down 2.90 per cent), K.M.Sugar Mills (down 2.50 per cent), Piccadily Agro Industries (down 1.97 per cent), Thiru Arooran Sugars (down 1.01 per cent), Dhampur Sugar Mills (down 0.50 per cent), DCM Shriram Industries (down 0.50 per cent) and Shree Renuka Sugars (down 0.11 per cent) were trading lower.


The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 60.60 points down at 11,270.45 while the 30share BSE Sensex was down 130.63 points at 37,852.11 at around 02:06 pm.

ZEEL (up 5.04 per cent), Asian Paints (up 2.60 per cent), Housing Development Finance Corporation (up 1.90 per cent) and Hindustan Unilever (up 1.34 per cent) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone (down 4.59 per cent), Eicher Motors (down 3.87 per cent), Britannia Industries (down 3.30 per cent) and JSW Steel (down 3.21 per cent) were trading in the red.
