Share market update: Sugar stocks bullish; Dwarikesh Sugar surges 7%

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading in positive zone in Thursday's afternoon session.

Shares of Dwarikesh Sugar Industries (up 7.34 per cent), Ponni Sugars (Erode) (up 5.01 per cent), Dharani Sugars & Chemicals (up 4.90 per cent), Sir Shadi Lal Enterprises (up 4.25 per cent), Gayatri Sugars (up 3.85 per cent), Shree Renuka Sugars (up 3.56 per cent), Indian Sucrose (up 3.44 per cent), Triveni Engineering & Industries (up 3.23 per cent) and Avadh Sugar (up 3.21 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Vishwaraj Sugar Industries (up 3.16 per cent), Magadh Sugar (up 2.77 per cent), Uttam Sugar Mills (up 2.77 per cent), DCM Shriram Industries (up 2.67 per cent), Dhampur Sugar Mills (up 2.32 per cent), Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries (up 2.14 per cent), Mawana Sugars (up 2.03 per cent), Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals (up 1.71 per cent), KCP Sugar & Industries (up 1.25 per cent), Ugar Sugar Works (up 0.94 per cent) and Simbhaoli Sugars (up 0.83 per cent) were the other gainers among sugar stocks.


While Piccadily Sugar & Allied Inds (down 3.98 per cent), Rana Sugars (down 2.90 per cent), Kesar Enterprise (down 1.10 per cent), EID Parry (down 1.07 per cent) and Balrampur Chini Mills (down 0.03 per cent) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty 50 index was trading 26.90 points down at 12187.65, while the 30 shares BSE Sensex was down 94.07 points at 41367.19 at around 12:58 pm.
