Share market update: PSU bank shares rise; OBC jumps 7%

NEW DELHI: Shares of PSU banks were trading with gains in Thursday's morning session.

Shares of Oriental Bank of Commerce (up 6.94 per cent) , Syndicate Bank (up 5.51 per cent) , Indian Bank (up 4.35 per cent) and Union Bank of India (up 4.18 per cent) were trading in the green.

Jammu & Kashmir Bank (up 4.12 per cent) , Punjab National Bank (up 3.53 per cent) , Allahabad Bank (up 2.81 per cent) and Bank of Baroda (up 2.45 per cent) too were trading higher.


The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 2.25 per cent up at 2684.5 around 10:48 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 19.75 points at 12,120.45 , while the BSE Sensex was up 52.22 points at 41,072.83.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 were trading in the green, while 25 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, ZEEL, Bank of Baroda, Bharti Infratel, PNB, RBL Bank, SBI and ICICI Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
