Share market update: PSU bank shares rise; OBC gains over 2%

NEW DELHI: Shares of PSU banks were trading in the positive zone in Monday's morning session.

Shares of Oriental Bank of Commerce (up 2.54 per cent) , Union Bank of India (up 2.24 per cent) , Bank of India (up 1.68 per cent) and Canara Bank (up 1.56 per cent) were the top performers in the index.


State Bank of India (up 1.06 per cent) , Punjab National Bank (up 1.05 per cent) , Indian Bank (up 0.63 per cent) and Central Bank of India (up 0.59 per cent) too were trading with gains.

The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 0.59 per cent up at 2179.45 around 10:55 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 56.30 points at 11,361.35 while the BSE Sensex was up 184.12 points at 38,311.20.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 were trading in the green, while 12 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation, Ashok Leyland, Bank of Baroda, Rail Vikas Nigam, JSPL and RBL Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
