Share market update: PSU bank shares rise; J & K Bank surges 20%

NEW DELHI: Shares of PSU banks were trading with gains in Friday's session.

Shares of J & K Bank (up 19.67 per cent), Punjab & Sind Bank (up 4.92 per cent), UCO Bank (up 4.55 per cent), Bank of Maharashtra (up 2.73 per cent), Central Bank of India (up 2.33 per cent), Indian Overseas Bank (up 2.13 per cent), Punjab National Bank (up 1.77 per cent), State Bank of India (up 1.06 per cent), Bank of Baroda (up 0.91 per cent), Indian Bank (up 0.33 per cent) and Canara Bank (up 0.06 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 1.18 per cent up at 1304.2 around 02:21 pm.


Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 185.90 points at 9178.7 , while the BSE Sensex was up 663.24 points at 31265.85 .

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 were trading in the green, while 12 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, SBI, Motherson Sumi, ICICI Bank, Tata Motors, L&T Fin Holding, Axis Bank, Federal Bank and IDFC First Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
