Share market update: PSU Bank shares gain; SBI up nearly 2%

NEW DELHI: Shares of PSU banks were trading in the positive zone in Tuesday's morning session.

Shares of Syndicate Bank (up 2.14 per cent), State Bank of India (up 1.77 per cent), Oriental Bank of Commerce (up 1.69 per cent) and Union Bank of India (up 1.61 per cent) were the top performers in the index.

Bank of India (up 1.19 per cent) , Punjab National Bank (up 1.13 per cent) , Bank of Baroda (up 0.98 per cent) and Indian Bank (up 0.97 per cent) too were trading higher.


The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 1.29 per cent up at 3428.60 around 09:51 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 14.75 points at 11,683.90 while the BSE Sensex was up 74.59 points at 38,946.46.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 were trading in the green, while 25 were in the red.

Shares of Tata Motors, BEL, Bank of Baroda, SBI, Zee Entertainment, YES Bank, Ashok Leyland, SAIL, BHEL, DLF and ONGC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
